A pair of 1960s Revell Hawker Hurricanes

Revell;s old Hurricane mk I was one of the first kits I build- back in preschool in the early 1960s. The grey one is a cleaned up take on my early builds- all the parts glued on, no paint, no decals. The black example is in 85 Squadron’s markings as a night fighter (single seat, ground no airborne radar) from the Blitz months at the end of the Battle of Britain. Since the decals I applied to the gray example all curled up and fell of as they dried (a message there…) I used some Elmer’s School Glue when applying the black plane’s decals, to make sure they stayed put.
Besides the decals, the black night-fighter has the pilot and interior painted, prop blades and tips , landing lights. " The fabric that seals the gun blast tubes, etc. etc. over the basic kit Black plastic which wasn’t changed.

St. John Arena

I started playing basketball in the 8th grade. The years before basketball I was a die hard soccer player. Once I started playing basketball though, I never looked back. I followed the Buckeyes when they had Jimmy Jackson, Mark Baker, Treg Lee, Perry Carter, Jamal Brown, and Chris Jent. I never got a chance to watch them live at St John’s but I watched most of their games at home with my dad. The only men’s basketball game I did watch was the game when OU came up to Columbus to put the whoppin’ on the Bucks. I also went to the OSU basketball camp after my sophomore year in high school. When I went to school at OU I played basketball all the time and even tried to walk on there. Needless to say, I didn’t make it. I ended up playing club volleyball my junior and senior years at OU. I have since gone to a few volleyball matches at St John Arena. I even made it to the Final Four of volleyball in 1997. St John Arena has given me a chance to watch 2 of my favorite sports over the years and this is my way of paying it back. I hope I did it some kind of justice.
When I went by St John’s today I hoped I would be able to get some great inside shots. I actually walked inside and took a few shots but there were a bunch of people there working on getting it cleaned up. I think it was only a matter of minutes before I got kicked out so I quickly saw myself out. I ended up with these outdoor shots since the indoor shots were rushed and not as great. Enjoy.
Performance Hobbies – Little Dog DD

I ordered this as the single deploy version of the Little Dog by Performance Hobbies – however it arrived with a coupler and payload bay making it the dual-deploy version
I’m not complaining.
The Airframe, fins, 38mm motor mount, centering rings and nosecone are all fiberglass – should be virtually indistructable!
This comes as a bare-bones kit, with no instructions beyond the break-apart image that’s online. A rocksim file is also available.
I have ordered a Missle Works altimeter and will build this up as dual-deploy.
This will fly on G – J motors and will be suitable for both Level 1 and Level 2 certifications.
